Happy Anniversary to us! It is Steven and my anniversary! We celebrate for two days each year. The day I said “yes,” and the day we said,” I do.”

On October 6, 2003, I said yes… We had been on a few dates, and I had some strong feelings, but I had just ended a three-year high school relationship that was not an easy breakup. So, after a whole month, but I finally said I would officially be his girlfriend. Sixteen years later we are still hanging on. This year life is too crazy, so we didn’t get to celebrate. One exciting change to our lives that lines up with our anniversary is Steven went to day shift. For the last six-ish years, he has worked night shift; going in as we go to bed and going to bed as the rest of us started the day. I wanted him on day shift for sooooo long, but he loved it so much I never thought it would really happen. A few months ago, he started talking about wanting to make the switch, but I still did not believe it was going to happen, but yesterday morning, he woke up before the sun and went into work and was in bed last night with me.
On October 7, 2005, we said I do…. We all were melting/ sweating on the most humid October night I can remember in a cabin with all our family to become Mr. & Mrs., promising ALLways and forever . Fast forward 14, we feel more like Momma and Daddy more than husband and wife, but that’s ok. We did not do anything special today- This morning I woke up, made the bed and cleaned the bathroom, put the laundry up, and all the things I can not do during the day… well except vacuuming, but that was out of laziness, not because I had to stay quiet because he has to sleep for work. Then he came home, the grandparents came and took the girls to dinner, and we sat on the couch BESIDE EACH OTHER and watched the Braves game TOGETHER… until he fell asleep. Not the anniversary celebration you might read about in the magazines, but I am not going to complain because we were together!
And now the one… Last year we officially launched Six Five Four Creations. I am not going to lie, it has not been smooth sailing, but we have made it a whole year that we worked together as a family to reach our goal to start a family business! I know we still have a lot to learn, and boy, do we have big plans for the future! The best part of it all is we are doing it together every step of the way!
Thank you to everyone that has been with us on this crazy ride we call life! I hope everyone sticks around to see what we do next… until next time!
